Elephant on the bank of the ZambeziConservation in Southern Africa has only been a real issue since the 1950's when the decimation of game populations through hunting and population growth was brought to the world's attention through the rise in travel, tourism and political change after the Second World War.

The projects on featured these pages have all been carefully reviewed by Afrikeye members and associates. Because we have limited resources they represent only a tiny proportion of the projects active in the region.

We hope that they provide at least a glimpse into the world of environmental protection and would appreciate your views and comments on the content.

If you know of any projects that you feel would benefit from exposure on Afrikeye please let us know through the feedback page. We will appreciate hearing about projects in Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotha and Swaziland (our own definition of Southern Africa).
